Joint Centre Urban Systems
The Joint Centre Urban Systems (JUS) is an inter- and transdisciplinary "umbrella" research centre with central facilities at the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE) and represents the university’s Flagship Research Area "Urban Systems". The JUS is part of a greater scientific cooperation within the University Alliance Ruhr (UA Ruhr), which, together with the Ruhr University of Bochum and the Technical University of Dortmund, founded the Competence Field Metropolitan Research (KoMet). As an inter-faculty research centre, the Centre for Logistics and Traffic (ZLV) is part of the Flagship Research Area.

INKAR - Indikatoren und Karten zur Raum- und Stadtentwicklung
Die aktuelle Ausgabe von INKAR, dem interaktiven Online-Atlas des Bundesinstituts für Bau-, Stadt- und Raumforschung, veranschaulicht die Lebensbedingungen in Deutschland und Europa. Rund 600 Indikatoren ermöglichen Stadt-Land-Vergleiche ebenso wie Auswertungen über die letzten Jahrzehnte.
INKAR bietet aktuelle regionalstatistische Informationen zu nahezu allen gesellschaftlich wichtigen Themen wie z.B. Bildung, Demografie, Arbeitsmarkt, Wirtschaft, Wohnen, Verkehr oder Umwelt. Neben dem reinen Datenangebot lassen sich mit der Anwendung auch thematische Karten für alle Regionen in Deutschland und der Europäischen Union erstellen und individualisieren. Sämtliche Daten und Karten lassen sich bequem exportieren und beliebig weiternutzen.
INKAR enthält ebenfalls Daten und Indikatoren zu Zentralen Orten. Damit wird ein bundesweit vergleichbarer Gesamtüberblick über den Bestand und die Verfügbarkeit von öffentlichen und privaten Einrichtungen und Dienstleistungen in den Zentralen Orten sowie den übrigen Gemeinden Deutschlands ermöglicht. Darüber hinaus bietet INKAR rund 50 Kernindikatoren der „Sustainable Development Goals“ (SDG). Hiermit lassen sich die 17 Ziele der „Agenda 2030 für nachhaltige Entwicklung“ flächendeckend für die Bundesrepublik Deutschland darstellen.

This map shows you how far you can travel from each station in Europe in less than 5 hours.
It is inspired by the great Direkt Bahn Guru. The data is based off of this site, which sources it from the Deutsch Bahn.
Hover your mouse over a station to see the isochrones from that city.
This assumes interchanges are 20 minutes, and transit between stations is a little over walking speed. Therefore, these should be interpreted as optimal travel times. The journeys might not exist when taking into account real interchange times.
